With Christmas commercials now running well before Halloween, our culture has adopted a mindset that the holiday season is about receiving gifts. The true meaning behind this season has given way to a focus on the bigger and better. Even Christians can get caught up in the scramble for shiny new toys. While there isn’t anything inherently wrong with receiving gifts, as followers of God we are tasked with a much greater purpose during the Christmas season … to give more than we receive.
But we get it, this time of year is busy, and sometimes surviving the next few months takes precedence over anything else. So, to help keep the spirit of giving a priority, we have created a simple giving advent calendar. Print it out and post it somewhere you will see it every day during the Christmas season. Even if you don’t hit every day, we hope it will help remind you to have a more giving spirit through the holiday season.
